- Game Objective:

- Guide your character around the fictional land.

- Collect the 16 scrolls and enter the palace.

- Status display is located at the top right of the screen with bars to
- indicate health at the top and progress at the bottom (i.e. percentage
- incomplete which decreases as the player progresses appropriately
- through game).

- For the more detailed plot to the game, choose the instructions option
- from the game menu.

- The menu system is mouse driven.

- The main menu shows three options - play game, instructions and music.

- —Play game: starts the game

- —Instructions : leads to the instructions menu where there are 3 further
- options - background, control, main menu.
- •Background: the story to the game
- •Control: the control methods for the game
- •Main menu: return the the main menu
- —Music: toggle between music or sound effects.

- <U> use object one or both pockets, if object(s) usable on screen

- Gameplay display

- The display consists of an overhead view of your character and the rest
- of the scenery in your surroundings.

- To the top right of the screen is a staus indicator showing 'health' and
- 'completeness'. The health bar decreases when your character is harmed
- while the 'complete' bar decreases on collection of each scroll. The
- cenrtral, small box is your inventory display showing a maximun of 2
- objects. Enjoy!

- Overcast is freeware and may be distributed freely provided all files
- are present and unmodified.It must not be sold for anything above
- distribution costs.
